Junior Achievement and AXA launch Youth Risk Education Program in Singapore

As part of AXA’s corporate philanthropic commitment under the Hearts in Action program, AXA Singapore is now extending their reach to touch more youths in Singapore through Junior Achievement (JA) which is a non-profit organization. These youths attend mainstream schools, from Kindergarten to Junior College. JA prepares and inspires youths as they enter an ever more complex and volatile world through technical and soft skills training required to succeed in this robust economy. It is necessary to provide students with the tools necessary to better understand the risks around them.

AXA in Ireland, Japan, The Philippines, Portugal and Romania are already working with JA in the respective countries since March 2012. In Singapore, AXA is the first insurance company to be a Corporate Volunteer in JA. Other corporate volunteers include those from the finance sector such as HSBC, Standard Chartered and Credit Suisse, to name a few.

What does the program cover?
Our aim is to provide practical information about financial risk education to these youths, teaching them about ways to achieve greater financial stability and protection against life’s unexpected events.

What is AXA’s involvement?
AXA volunteers will go to the schools to conduct and facilitate training using JA’s structured program and easy-to-follow trainer’s guide. Just 6 hours of their time on an average is needed in a year.
